Yep, that's right, I've already had more visitors!! This time it was my mother and Chelsea and Sarah Sue once again! They actually stayed at our place this time which made it even more fun because it made it feel like even more of our own home by having people stay over on vacation!
This is our lovely sleeping conditions while they were in town.
They got in late Wednesday night and stayed until Monday. Mother was ready to go straight to the grocery store though and loaded us up with a butt to the load of groceries. She is just too kind! The following day we did the usual, walk around the town so Mother could scope it out and ate at a few of my favorite resturants. The next day we saw an arts and crafts fair going on across the river so we drove on over and checked that out as well. Seeing our place from the other side of the river was real weird, it looks like crap!!
Lets be honest, this picture explains us much
better than the one above!
Saturday night we went on a Ghost Tour which was pretty interesting and fun! We walked all around the town while Tara the tour guide talked about all of the history of the town and the scary info! In the middle of one of the stories Chels leans over and says, "that's way sweet" and asks me a question about it and well.. I missed that whole story, I was in a complete zone haha but apparently there is a tunnel from the river that goes up to the Pirate House, which is a resturant now but use to be a boarding house for sailors. They built this so they wouldn't have to carry all of their stuff up the steep stairs or ramps that get you up to the city from River Street, which is what I live on. Anywho, later on, pirates found out about this tunnel and started to sneak in there and grab the sailors, drug them and take them back to their ship to where they would then wake and realize they were now pirates since once you step on their ship you become one. I do not know if the tunnel is still open or not but if it is, you bet your buttom dollar I'll be getting in there somehow! There were a lot more good stories like that one that I did not zone out on but that one was my favorite, so apparently Chels told it pretty well! Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of this because my camera doesn't have a flash so... check out my mothers blog for those! www.joans4andmore.blogspot.com
Then there was the beach!! Oh my favorite! If I could go there everyday, I would! And I will be able to soon since we are getting a car this weekend, yay!! It was Sarah Sues first time to the beach and at the beginning she didn't enjoy the sand on her toesies too much. Each time I tried to put her down she would hold her feet up as high as she could, it was adorable. She then realized how fantastic it really is and loved it the rest of the time!
A couple of weeks ago when Brynn and I went to the beach we saw some guys throwing a football back and forth and wanted to go join. We then noticed that they SUCKED at throwing and even catching, it was hilarious! Therefore we ended up bringing our own football this time. Much fun it was! And I'm pretty sure all the southern guys were checkin us out in awe that we can throw better than them, LOSERS!
The water was FREEZING but she loved it and kept crawling towards
it every time we put her down.
The next morning was time to say goodbye yet I was half asleep! I got awoken by my mother at 5 something telling me to go sleep by Sar until they were ready to leave. I then had to do my goodbyes all over again but it's getting a lot easier, especially since I'm not really an emotional kind of girl but then there's my mother, crying before I even got to her! What a little sweetheart, I mean I guess I understand since I'm her favorite and all, it's hard to see me go! Haha I'm hilarious! But seriously, thank you so much for coming out and visiting, we loved it! Love you!!
What a wonderful time I had. Thank you, thank you! I guess I have a little pressure to update my blog. I will be doing that soon. You and Brynn are so lucky that you get to be there. What a beautiful area. Anyone that has a chance to visit, you must do it. Cobblestone streets, great weather, candy stores, history and fun unique restaurants and wonderful hostess'. Love you!
