Quinn and Padmae!

Oooh how I've been dreading to do this next blog!! Yes, I'm already sick of it but I'm even more sick of all the text asking when my next one
will be up... (cough.... chelsea!!!)
So here it be!
So basically Quinn and Padmae are thee coolest people alive in this town called Savannah. They work at Del Sol about 42 hours a week, cruise the town around on a cute little scoot scoot named, Pico then return to their home, Penelope, but then soon realized they need some FUDGE!! So once again they jump onto Pico and make a trip down to the candy store then sit and watch tv as they get fat and eat delicious fudge!! (peanut butter and chocolate flavor, of course). If you guys haven't caught on quite yet, Quinn would be muah and Padmae of course is Brynn, Star Wars NERD!! We decided we wanted to change our names when we moved out here but it's quite hard to do so. Like remembering to say, "Quinn" when people ask for my name because Lindsey just instantly comes out but I'm working on it. Also I stuck with Lindsey for church because I thought it'd be quite awkward when they welcomed me into the ward as Lindsey Arlene Bennett and I stand up while everyone knows me as Quinn and it's not even my middle name! But if and when we make friends they best be callin me Quinn!

As you can tell, we have still yet to find fun and exciting things to do here but it's starting to just feel normal being LOSERS! Therefore I do not have any great stories to tell you guys besides just a few.
Last Monday we got Pico and just drove home because it was quite cold. The next day we decided to take a spin around the town and explore. Padmae wanted to drive so I hopped on back. We finally made it down the street after which seemed like nine hours of the speed we were going. Keep in mind this is one of the few times she has driven a scooter. Up ahead is a stop sign that is on a hill and a slight slant to merge onto the main street. We are slowly approaching the stop but then I realized we are not stopped, we are rolling backwards! I yell, "pull the breaks, pull the breaks!!" But all she does is put her feet down and grip onto the handle bars for dear life trying to hold the scooter and myself up on the hill. I continue to yell for her to hit the breaks but she for some odd reason does not follow. I then decide to get off the scooter so it's not as heavy for her but as I get off and look up, I realize she has done the same! I grab the scooter and hold down the break and tell her to get back on and drive it up the hill and I'll run on the sidewalk then get on. She gets back on and guns it right on up that hill so I begin to just slightly jog on after. I then get winded. She is driving way past the hill! She finally decides to stop and I run and do the bunny hop onto the back and just like that we are off again!
Pico has been the best decision we have made here yet! It's the one thing that can make us smile no matter what, well and our fudge! Even when we are absolutely freezing and can't feel our whole bodies! For example, on Thursday we decided to go to institute at our church so we could meet people and such. Well, our church is about 25 minutes away. We were wearing socks as gloves and just shaking the whole way there but couldn't help but laugh the entire time! As we finally pull into the parking lot, we head towards the back to take off our many layers so we can look half decent as we walk in. We find a room that we can put our helmets and extra clothing in then walk into the room they were teaching in. There was two girls and two teachers and that was it! It was so weird! One girl left after ten minutes so it ended up just being us three. The entire time I never got warm and then it was time to leave. Padmae and I start to head back to the room we put all of our stuff so we could get all bundled up but the girl followed us and same with the two teachers. They wanted to get our numbers and also make sure we made it to our "car" safely since the neighborhood our church is in isn't too safe. They soon learned we were on a scooter and had a few laughs at our outfits. The drive back was awful! So freezing! And then we came upon Oglethorpe Ave. Curse Oglethorpe!! It is the longest light ever so we just sat there and froze! Ah I can't help but laugh at this moment just thinking of us on our scooter speaking to each street we pass, especially Oglethorpe. We talk to them as if they are humans, like Broughton St, the main street with all the sweet stores, or Liberty St where we shout, "give me liberty or give me death" as we fly by on Pico! There are many more but I'll stop there so you guys don't start worrying about us! Any who, back to the scooter ride. We finally get home and without talking, head straight inside leaving Pico unlocked for a little bit. I instantly take off all my layers to get the cold away from me. I then take off my socks which felt like ice sheets covering my poor little pigs. I look down and well this is what I saw...

That picture does it no justice but just trust me!
I couldn't fell my feet for quite some time but don't worry, they're good now!
So it's quite the down pour here right now and absolutely no one is coming into the store which means we get to close!! I'm very excited and will now be going out to run/play in the rain!
Sorry I don't have many pictures, I'm not a real picture taking person and neither is Brynn but we'll get working on that for ya'll! Ha I can't believe I just said, "ya'll" but I got to fit in here somehow!! I also apologize if I just jump all over the place with my stories but that's just what I do so get use to it cause I'm not apologizing for it!
My fas jha aka father is coming out here on Thursday and I cannot wait! Eddie and Alex, the two locals that work here said they would work the whole weekend for us so we get to go exploring with my fas in a warm car instead of Pico. I can't wait!! See you soon fas!
Ps. anyone else that wants to come visit, feel free, and I'm being for reals right now!!!!
Love you all!!

Hello Savanneeee!!!!

So those who don't know, I moved to Savannah, Georgia for an internship with Del Sol. Brynn and I finally made it to the store after getting dropped off at a corner by our cab driver that then continued on to drive right past our store!! We began to walk down the street each pulling three bags of luggage around, searching for the store. We went one way but than thought it was back the other way so we turned around and went back. Keep in mind that it's late, cold and groups of friends are hanging out on the streets just watching us, laughing. So we walk a ways then find out it was the other way in the first place!! So once again we have to pass by those people, rolling our loud luggage on the cobblestone sidewalk which makes it extremely loud and hard to pull!
We finally made it to the store were we met Eddie, one of the local workers here. We waited around until he finished closing the store and then he showed us to our apartment. Usually our manager would pick us up from the airport and do all of this but the manager actually just got fired so we got to go through all of this instead!
Our apartment is right behind our store just up a flight of stairs. We walked into our apartment, that is surprisingly quite large from what we were picturing.

This is our lovely front door that we find absolutely adorable!!

We spent the rest of the night rearranging EVERYTHING!! We hated how everything was set up and decided we needed to make it homey since it's our home for the next five months. I wish I would have taken pictures of how it was before to show you all how talented we are but oh well!!

Entry way

Cute little window from our dining table to our kitchen!
Hallway goes back to the front door and bedroom.

Gigantic family room. We want to invest in a ping pong table to go behind the couch so we can keep ourselves entertained instead of watching tv all the time!

The B.E.A.UTIFUL view from our balcony!
If we were to look down and to our left, the store is right there.

Bathroom with the creepy mirror from the movie, The Ring.

Bedroom. We moved this couch in here from the family room
because it was so bare in here!

Other end of the bedroom.

Yes, our beds are set up so our heads are touching!
We live in the ghetto so it's a little scary but don't worry we
have two pepper sprays right next to our bed!

So Sunday came and we had to work from open to close. We were not too happy! We rolled out of bed at 9:46, needing to be there at 10:00. Good thing it's like a 45 second walk to the store! It was the longest day of my life! Like a total of ten customers came in all day and everything was already perfect in the store so there was really nothing to do. Brynn and I would sit there and make up games to keep up entertained but they didn't last long. For lunch we order from Lizzy's which is right next door. We get 50% off there so it's quite fantastic! After work we just went back to our apartment, all depressed because there's literally NOTHING to do here! Especially when it's cold. Stores even close early because of the cold, (kind of like our white out day). It's ridiculous!
The next day got a little better because the store is closed on Mondays. We are actually trying to get them to change that right now though to Sundays so we can go to church. Anywho, Eddie, who we work with and his friend Sammy offered to take us to the grocery store because it was such a walk for us. We get there and they decided they didn't want to shop and said they'd just wait for us. It was extremely awkward! We were like sprinting around the store trying to go as fast as we could. We ended up making great timing until we got the the check out line. As we are walking up to check out, I look up to see what cashiers are open and I see, 3, 7 and 9. I instantly pick the shortest line, three, and begin to unload our cart. When it gets to be our turn the cashier goes, "Oh wow!" then points to a sign that's hanging above the line that says, "15 items or less". We felt so retarded!! We apologized and said we'd change but he did it anyways. Brynn and I just kept looking at each other trying not to laugh the whole time. I decided I'm blaming it on the sign, because it was in a weird place, usually it says it right with the number boxes but oh well!!
Later that night we talked to our landlord and found out that he was the owner of a scooter store we had been calling the day before asking if we could rent a scooter for the five months we were going to be here. On the phone he was a butt to the head, not helping us whatsoever! When he gave us his business card, Brynn noticed the name and instantly asked him about his scooters and he then told us that he could figure something out for us to get one! We then walked to his store and rented our little scoot magoot for the next five months! We look hilarious on it but are in love!! It will definitely save us from our awkward moments at the grocery store but will probably force us back to the 15 items or less line since it'll be hard to carry it all!

Safety first!!

And our adorable scooter!!

Sorry the picture is awful, it was dark but
I had to put one up!

Well I believe that's enough for one day. I will try my best to stay updated but we'll see how long that works! I apologize now if this post is just all over the place, keep in mind that it's my first one!!
Love you all and miss you already!!
