Oooh how I've been dreading to do this next blog!! Yes, I'm already sick of it but I'm even more sick of all the text asking when my next one
will be up... (cough.... chelsea!!!)
So here it be!
So basically Quinn and Padmae are thee coolest people alive in this town called Savannah. They work at Del Sol about 42 hours a week, cruise the town around on a cute little scoot scoot named, Pico then return to their home, Penelope, but then soon realized they need some FUDGE!! So once again they jump onto Pico and make a trip down to the candy store then sit and watch tv as they get fat and eat delicious fudge!! (peanut butter and chocolate flavor, of course). If you guys haven't caught on quite yet, Quinn would be muah and Padmae of course is Brynn, Star Wars NERD!! We decided we wanted to change our names when we moved out here but it's quite hard to do so. Like remembering to say, "Quinn" when people ask for my name because Lindsey just instantly comes out but I'm working on it. Also I stuck with Lindsey for church because I thought it'd be quite awkward when they welcomed me into the ward as Lindsey Arlene Bennett and I stand up while everyone knows me as Quinn and it's not even my middle name! But if and when we make friends they best be callin me Quinn!
As you can tell, we have still yet to find fun and exciting things to do here but it's starting to just feel normal being LOSERS! Therefore I do not have any great stories to tell you guys besides just a few.
Last Monday we got Pico and just drove home because it was quite cold. The next day we decided to take a spin around the town and explore. Padmae wanted to drive so I hopped on back. We finally made it down the street after which seemed like nine hours of the speed we were going. Keep in mind this is one of the few times she has driven a scooter. Up ahead is a stop sign that is on a hill and a slight slant to merge onto the main street. We are slowly approaching the stop but then I realized we are not stopped, we are rolling backwards! I yell, "pull the breaks, pull the breaks!!" But all she does is put her feet down and grip onto the handle bars for dear life trying to hold the scooter and myself up on the hill. I continue to yell for her to hit the breaks but she for some odd reason does not follow. I then decide to get off the scooter so it's not as heavy for her but as I get off and look up, I realize she has done the same! I grab the scooter and hold down the break and tell her to get back on and drive it up the hill and I'll run on the sidewalk then get on. She gets back on and guns it right on up that hill so I begin to just slightly jog on after. I then get winded. She is driving way past the hill! She finally decides to stop and I run and do the bunny hop onto the back and just like that we are off again!
Pico has been the best decision we have made here yet! It's the one thing that can make us smile no matter what, well and our fudge! Even when we are absolutely freezing and can't feel our whole bodies! For example, on Thursday we decided to go to institute at our church so we could meet people and such. Well, our church is about 25 minutes away. We were wearing socks as gloves and just shaking the whole way there but couldn't help but laugh the entire time! As we finally pull into the parking lot, we head towards the back to take off our many layers so we can look half decent as we walk in. We find a room that we can put our helmets and extra clothing in then walk into the room they were teaching in. There was two girls and two teachers and that was it! It was so weird! One girl left after ten minutes so it ended up just being us three. The entire time I never got warm and then it was time to leave. Padmae and I start to head back to the room we put all of our stuff so we could get all bundled up but the girl followed us and same with the two teachers. They wanted to get our numbers and also make sure we made it to our "car" safely since the neighborhood our church is in isn't too safe. They soon learned we were on a scooter and had a few laughs at our outfits. The drive back was awful! So freezing! And then we came upon Oglethorpe Ave. Curse Oglethorpe!! It is the longest light ever so we just sat there and froze! Ah I can't help but laugh at this moment just thinking of us on our scooter speaking to each street we pass, especially Oglethorpe. We talk to them as if they are humans, like Broughton St, the main street with all the sweet stores, or Liberty St where we shout, "give me liberty or give me death" as we fly by on Pico! There are many more but I'll stop there so you guys don't start worrying about us! Any who, back to the scooter ride. We finally get home and without talking, head straight inside leaving Pico unlocked for a little bit. I instantly take off all my layers to get the cold away from me. I then take off my socks which felt like ice sheets covering my poor little pigs. I look down and well this is what I saw...
That picture does it no justice but just trust me!
I couldn't fell my feet for quite some time but don't worry, they're good now!
So it's quite the down pour here right now and absolutely no one is coming into the store which means we get to close!! I'm very excited and will now be going out to run/play in the rain!
Sorry I don't have many pictures, I'm not a real picture taking person and neither is Brynn but we'll get working on that for ya'll! Ha I can't believe I just said, "ya'll" but I got to fit in here somehow!! I also apologize if I just jump all over the place with my stories but that's just what I do so get use to it cause I'm not apologizing for it!
My fas jha aka father is coming out here on Thursday and I cannot wait! Eddie and Alex, the two locals that work here said they would work the whole weekend for us so we get to go exploring with my fas in a warm car instead of Pico. I can't wait!! See you soon fas!
Ps. anyone else that wants to come visit, feel free, and I'm being for reals right now!!!!
Love you all!!
That post was so worth the wait. I can't stop laughing! The scoot story was priceless. How disappointing to drive all that way and have hardly no one there! Maybe you could start your own little club a little closer to home! Like I said, the loom I sent you, start a class and have Joe sell the scarfs on the street! I'm so happy your Dad is coming and you can go play and stay warm! What great memories you are making, the bad times are worth it! I'm so proud of you both. I love you! P.S. Maybe you should do the driving, shhhh don't tell Brynn I said that!
ReplyDeleteYou seriously had the nerve to say that I'm weird on my blog and then tell us all how you speak to the streets as if they are humans?! You two are dorks! But I miss you. It sounds like you are having fun. I'm so very jealous that Dad gets to come visit you. I sure wish I were joining him. Hopefully David and I can come out sometime. Don't worry we'll bring Saint ;) he comes on friday!!
ReplyDeleteJonie B. I'm the driver, we laugh SO much harder when I drive. I enjoy this post quinn, even down here i find amusement! can we break our diets today and eat fudge?
ReplyDeleteWell my little Brynn, I'll try to remember that when your in the hospital! Safety first, then laugh all you want!
ReplyDeleteOh Lindsey/Quinn, why wouldn't I want you to post a blog when they are that fantastic! I'm sure being in a warm car with Dad will be great. That's so nice the guys will work for you so you can spend time with Dad. He's excited. When we come in February, maybe...just maybe I will let you give me a ride on Pico. They kind of scare me though..
ReplyDeleteSmash if you and Dave can't come then just ship st. on over!! and Chels really just maybe? It will most certainly happen, it'll be a good good time!! And mother I'm glad you enjoyed the stories, don't let them freak you out though!
ReplyDeleteGreat blog!!! I started one and posted once or maybe twice and that was it for me! You will be glad that you are doing it. Someday you can let your kids read about your adventures, but maybe edit out the parts about jumping off a scooter?! Sounds like you are having fun and I'm very glad that your Dad is coming to see you!!! I'm afraid that I am with your Mom, you might want to do the driving until Brynn gets a few more miles under her belt. We miss you and love you!
ReplyDeleteFirst off....I don't EVER EVER comment on blogs. Now that that's out of the way, you guys look like you're having a GREAT time!! I am very jealous of your fun scoot adventures on Pico. Can't wait to see more pictures and hear of childlike adventures. Love ya.
ReplyDeleteWHAT!! Rodgie commented on this?! You must really miss me! First my fas and now you? Goodness, I feel so special!!
