Hello Savanneeee!!!!

So those who don't know, I moved to Savannah, Georgia for an internship with Del Sol. Brynn and I finally made it to the store after getting dropped off at a corner by our cab driver that then continued on to drive right past our store!! We began to walk down the street each pulling three bags of luggage around, searching for the store. We went one way but than thought it was back the other way so we turned around and went back. Keep in mind that it's late, cold and groups of friends are hanging out on the streets just watching us, laughing. So we walk a ways then find out it was the other way in the first place!! So once again we have to pass by those people, rolling our loud luggage on the cobblestone sidewalk which makes it extremely loud and hard to pull!
We finally made it to the store were we met Eddie, one of the local workers here. We waited around until he finished closing the store and then he showed us to our apartment. Usually our manager would pick us up from the airport and do all of this but the manager actually just got fired so we got to go through all of this instead!
Our apartment is right behind our store just up a flight of stairs. We walked into our apartment, that is surprisingly quite large from what we were picturing.

This is our lovely front door that we find absolutely adorable!!

We spent the rest of the night rearranging EVERYTHING!! We hated how everything was set up and decided we needed to make it homey since it's our home for the next five months. I wish I would have taken pictures of how it was before to show you all how talented we are but oh well!!

Entry way

Cute little window from our dining table to our kitchen!
Hallway goes back to the front door and bedroom.

Gigantic family room. We want to invest in a ping pong table to go behind the couch so we can keep ourselves entertained instead of watching tv all the time!

The B.E.A.UTIFUL view from our balcony!
If we were to look down and to our left, the store is right there.

Bathroom with the creepy mirror from the movie, The Ring.

Bedroom. We moved this couch in here from the family room
because it was so bare in here!

Other end of the bedroom.

Yes, our beds are set up so our heads are touching!
We live in the ghetto so it's a little scary but don't worry we
have two pepper sprays right next to our bed!

So Sunday came and we had to work from open to close. We were not too happy! We rolled out of bed at 9:46, needing to be there at 10:00. Good thing it's like a 45 second walk to the store! It was the longest day of my life! Like a total of ten customers came in all day and everything was already perfect in the store so there was really nothing to do. Brynn and I would sit there and make up games to keep up entertained but they didn't last long. For lunch we order from Lizzy's which is right next door. We get 50% off there so it's quite fantastic! After work we just went back to our apartment, all depressed because there's literally NOTHING to do here! Especially when it's cold. Stores even close early because of the cold, (kind of like our white out day). It's ridiculous!
The next day got a little better because the store is closed on Mondays. We are actually trying to get them to change that right now though to Sundays so we can go to church. Anywho, Eddie, who we work with and his friend Sammy offered to take us to the grocery store because it was such a walk for us. We get there and they decided they didn't want to shop and said they'd just wait for us. It was extremely awkward! We were like sprinting around the store trying to go as fast as we could. We ended up making great timing until we got the the check out line. As we are walking up to check out, I look up to see what cashiers are open and I see, 3, 7 and 9. I instantly pick the shortest line, three, and begin to unload our cart. When it gets to be our turn the cashier goes, "Oh wow!" then points to a sign that's hanging above the line that says, "15 items or less". We felt so retarded!! We apologized and said we'd change but he did it anyways. Brynn and I just kept looking at each other trying not to laugh the whole time. I decided I'm blaming it on the sign, because it was in a weird place, usually it says it right with the number boxes but oh well!!
Later that night we talked to our landlord and found out that he was the owner of a scooter store we had been calling the day before asking if we could rent a scooter for the five months we were going to be here. On the phone he was a butt to the head, not helping us whatsoever! When he gave us his business card, Brynn noticed the name and instantly asked him about his scooters and he then told us that he could figure something out for us to get one! We then walked to his store and rented our little scoot magoot for the next five months! We look hilarious on it but are in love!! It will definitely save us from our awkward moments at the grocery store but will probably force us back to the 15 items or less line since it'll be hard to carry it all!

Safety first!!

And our adorable scooter!!

Sorry the picture is awful, it was dark but
I had to put one up!

Well I believe that's enough for one day. I will try my best to stay updated but we'll see how long that works! I apologize now if this post is just all over the place, keep in mind that it's my first one!!
Love you all and miss you already!!

  7. Great post Lindsey! I bet this will cut down the number of times you need to repeat yourself to all your worried loved ones. Good gracious Girl, what are they paying you at this place?! Offering to buy flights, renting scooters, buying ping pong tables....geez, I need in on that action!! You will have a blast and don't get discouraged just yet. Once you figure out the city, you'll be sooo busy having fun you won't want to come home....as one of Caroline's favorite literary characters says (Edwin the Wiggleskin), "Necks out for adventure!!!" The girls and I love and miss you!!!
